Bilbo.

How I feel about this character: Okay, you know, as much as I love LotR and Frodo to bits and pieces, Bilbo is my childhood hero - or more, the relatable reluctant hero of my childhood - and the movie has brought back a lot of feels and added tons of new ones. He’s not only typical down-to-earth as any hobbit, but with an extra portion of snark, excentric and a bit of an oddball and proud of it. What’s not to love! I especially enjoy how he differs from Frodo and even though he’s a nice and gentle nature, he’s also a bit reserved about his feelings and turns into a pretty sarcastic old bugger (LotR was really what sealed my love for Bilbo).

His love for poetry is handled a bit ironically, too, which makes it so endearing. And I do love his poems.

OTP: Thorin/Bilbo ;w;

BrOTP: Bilbo/Frodo (gosh Bilbo has all the relationships that tug on my heartstrings), Bilbo and the dwarves (esp Bilbo/Balin), Bilbo/Gandalf, Bilbo/Aragorn

OT3: Bilbo/Gandalf/Thorin (don’t judge me, Gandalf set this ship up), also I sort of guiltily ship Bilbo/Thorin/Frodo I know it makes no sense but augh

NOTP: If there’s ships that include Bilbo marrying a nice hobbit lady, that’d be my notp. Because if he’d really wanted to do that, I think he’d have, you know, actually married someone. I sort of always thought it was extremely cool that Bilbo didn’t give a fuck of what people thought about him and stayed bachelor his whole life & adopted an heir.

My unpopular opinion on them: Hm, I do hope it’s not an unpopular opinion to see Bilbo not as a very emotional and warm person, but as I said a bit reserved about showing how much he actually cares about people and quite excentric and sarcastic, too.

One wish: FOR THE LAST MOVIE TO NOT RIP MY HEART OUT?? If I can’t have that, I settle for lots of Bilbo snarking at Thorin. And Bilbo bonding with more dwarves of the company. <3

Fréa!!

How I feel about this character: AUGH NORD BB I mean, how am I supposed to feel about a dumb idiot who’s grumpy but actually just a huge kawaii and who actually wants to cuddle a lot and form the best broships with ppl. And who “happens” to hit some kink buttons with smithing and sword fighting and turning into a monster & eating people, which is so traumatizing and I’m so afflicted really ♥

I also have such a weakness for strong family bonds and he cares so much about family uwu

OTP: Fréa/anxieties. Also Fréa and hot people who make him uncomfortable (Esca, Marcius, J’razi, Menedhel, Ulfric ahahaha) - also Fréa/Jorunn

BrOTP: FRÉA/GRUL. Actually, this is my OTP. And Fréa/Edwyne sobs and Fréa and Swana bb

Oh and not to forget Tanni and Randi and all his other doggies uwu

OT3: Rakhim/Fréa/Jorunn so much, (also Fréa/Hroir which sort of leads to Edwyne/Fréa/Hroir :3)

NOTP: Everything is fun with Fréa.

So I tweaked his markings a bit and I think they’re okay now.

Yes for a more balanced design that makes up for the things that bug me about Khajiit’s faces.

'Give me a character' - Elrond

How I feel about this character: I do have a great sympathy for this character ever since I read The Hobbit. I feel like it’s impossible to dislike Elrond? He’s imho a very well-done version of the typical “wise character everyone goes to for advise”, because he feels both ancient and wise, but also very much alive, regal in a way, but not overly remote and all serious. I’m fond of the concept of Half-Elves and Elrond’s family line, so there’s that, too.

(I like Elrond in the movies, too, but I admit he’s become mostly a joke to me :,D)

OTP: Nothing against Elrond/Celebrían, but I do like the idea of Elrond/Gil-galad v much, too

BrOTP: Elrond/Aragorn. And Elrond/Arwen. Also, Elrond/Bilbo maybe, because I like how Bilbo spent his later days in Rivendell and was part of the club. And Elrond/Lindir (due to the movies).

OT3: Elrond/Gil-galad/Círdan. And I am not opposed to shipping Elrond/Aragorn/Arwen. Maybe even him and his sons, but I sort of exclude them because I know so little about them.

NOTP: Nope.

My unpopular opinion on them: I never ventured much into the fandom, so I’m not sure what an unpopular opinion would be. I guess that while I enjoyed the movies, Elrond’s portrayal seems a bit off to me. He has his lighter moments, yes, but seems too stern and strict to me, also he lacks a certain air of being ancient and immortal, but that is the case with most elves in the movies. Also I hated how the Arwen and Aragorn romance was handled in the movies, including Elrond’s part.

One wish: That there’d be more on his childhood when he and Elros lived with Maglor, because it’s such an interesting constellation.
